Salt City Sports Raises $1,500 for Breast Cancer Research

[Together We Strike Out Cancer]

Salt City Sports hosted our annual Strike Out Cancer Tournament (October 4–5, 2025) in partnership with The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. This event united more than 20 baseball and softball teams, ranging from youth to adult divisions, all coming together with one shared goal — to raise awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer.

Through the incredible generosity of our teams, families, and community members, we are proud to announce that $1,500 was raised and donated directly to The Baldwin Fund. This contribution will help further their ongoing mission to support vital breast cancer research in Central New York.

Since its establishment in 2002, The Baldwin Fund has:

  • Provided funding for 77 research grants related to breast cancer for more than 50 primary investigators
  • Awarded over $4,000,000 to SUNY Upstate Medical University

This inspiring organization was founded by Carol M. Baldwin (1929–2022), who courageously battled breast cancer and dedicated her life to helping others overcome the disease. In 1996, she established the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, which continues to make a profound impact on countless lives through research, awareness, and education.

Salt City Sports extends its heartfelt gratitude to every player, coach, volunteer, and spectator who supported this meaningful cause. Your enthusiasm and compassion — from “pinking out” dugouts and uniforms to cheering on every game — made this event truly special. Together, we continue to make a difference both on and off the field.
